Hercules

   Harley

is a sweet 7-year-old Pug. He is a very handsome Pug …his coat is really light, he has a very wrinkled face and a great double curl tail and wags it constantly, like every day is a good day. He weighs 27 pounds and is not at all overweight, just a thick boy Harley LOVES all kinds of animals & prefers to sleep with either a human or another friendly dog. He is very affectionate & loves to be right by your side. He loves to eat & has a funny high-pitched bark when he knows it's time to eat. He really doesn't care too much about toys, he just wants to be near his owner & that makes him happy. He puts his head across the other dog’s shoulders until he gets to know them. It's not a dominance thing really, but more that he just wants to get to know the dog & sticks right by his side until he does! He doesn't really care to have his face wrinkles cleaned, but he needs it done regularly. He also doesn't like you to look in his ears or put meds in his eyes. He doesn't ever try to bite - he's just a scardy cat & tucks his head down! He will allow you to do anything you want to - but you have to hold his head up to put in his eye meds or check his teeth. You also have to hold him down to cut his toes - he just cries - but never bites. Then he likes to be held like a baby (up against your chest) when you're done - because he's very traumatized by the horrible thing you've just done to him! Other than having Dry Eye/Keratitus - for which he needs Cyclosporine drops daily, he is a healthy Pug. He has lots of energy and loves to play with the other Pugs in his foster home. He is a very young 7 years old! Harley is very affectionate and loves to be carried like a baby with both arms around your neck and his head on your shoulder.

  Maxie

is a black female Pug who came to use from a shelter in Hattiesburg, MS.  She was picked up as a stray.  By the looks of her coat and paws she had obviously been on the streets for a while.  She did have an infection in both ears but other than that she’s been to our vet and is up to date on her shots and has been spayed. She shows her foster Mom how much she likes the ointment in her ears by rubbing all over her!   She’s a healthy girl and will get a much needed dental in a couple of weeks.  When her foster Mom picked her up she was happy to see her and acted as though she had always known her.  She is house broken and was delighted when to be let her out of the car into the yard to take care of business. She's a bit feisty and was a little testy about her food.  She loves being with the other Pugs and loves being on the bed with everyone.  She was definitely someone's pet because she's so friendly.  She really responds well, listens and craves attention.   She’s very appreciative to be in a real home after being on the streets and in a shelter. She immediately claimed her own pillow on the bed and seems very happy.  She has a strange deep bark like she is trying to talk to you.

Pudge

is just 2 years old and a very healthy, active pug. He has some minor skin problems on his back that are being treated now, and are clearing up nicely. He is a little sweetheart who gives his foster mom tons of kisses whenever she picks him up! Pudge loves playing with toys, the other pugs in his foster home, and any friendly human who wants to give him attention. He also loves to cuddle and sleeps in his foster mom's lap when he is tired of playing. Pudge has lots of energy as many young pugs do, and he would love a forever home where he can be active with lots of playtime.

Starr

is 7 yrs old and recently retired from a breeding kennel.

She's lived her entire life with little to no human contact and with only dogs so she is a little shy, but her Pug personality is quickly emerging. She’s a healthy girl, up to date on her shots. When she came to rescue she had Exposure keratopathy syndrome which is the inability of the eyelids to close completely when the dog sleeps. She’s had surgery to correct that problem. She is looking forward to learning all about tummy rubs, hugs, toys, good food. Starr is ready for a forever home where she'll get tons of love and kind words.
