CHANCE & FAMILY
Chance
was turned over by his owner along with another Pug,
Fern. Pug Rescue called Kay Dawson who was eager
to give him a foster home. The Dawson's also own
a female Pug, Bandit. Kay says Chance was wild at first
and not housetrained. Chance soon became adjusted
and the Dawson's decided to adopt him. It took
several weeks for Bandit to adjust to her new companion,
but she finally gave in and decided she liked him.
Chance will escape from the back yard and Bandit
immediately alerts Kay. When Chance comes back
Bandit does the scolding by biting his ears. Bandit
has taught Chance how to play and they sleep cuddled
up in the same kennel every night.
MOE & JOSIE
Josie
& Moe were turned over to rescue along with two
other puppies. They were only 3 weeks old.
The owner had been told that breeding could be both
easy and profitable. Two other puppies from the
litter had already died when she turned the remaining
four over. Two of the puppies, a black male and
black female recovered, sadly the fawn puppies did not
survive. Josie was adopted by Linda & Melvin
Smith. She is the light of their life and a welcome
addition to a family of senior Pugs. Moe was adopted
by Tracey Thomas. Tracey also has a female Pug,
Ms. Purdy, and had just adopted another puppy a few
weeks before she adopted Moe. Josie and Moe are
both healthy and thriving with their new families thanks
to volunteers like MeLisa and our vet, Dr. Gerald Blackburn.
Polly Ann
This
9 year old is both dainty & delightful. She
spent her entire life in a Missouri puppy mill until
she was rescued on September 8, 2001. She was
used for breeding and is now in a foster home that gives
her the love and attention she deserves. Polly
Ann adapted to the outside world very quickly.
On the ride back to Memphis she demanded to be let out
of her crate. She insisted on riding in the front
seat and gazing out the window at her new found world.
Because of years of neglect, Polly Ann had to have several
of her teeth pulled. She enjoys rolling in the
grass and has learned to walk on a leash. Polly Ann
is housetrained & gets along well with other pets
and children. She loves to cuddle and show her
appreciation for the new life she has been given. Polly
Ann has been adopted by a family in Texas.
They already had a Pug, Sofie, and were looking
for an older Pug to be a companion to their son, Kyle.
Polly Ann fits in with the family like she has been
there forever! She loves Kyle and sleeps with
him every night. The family cannot believe she
is 9 years old. Polly Ann has a wonderful personality
and gets lots of attention. She & Sofie are
getting along great. The family reports they melt
every time she approaches them with her sweet face.

Toby
This
4 year old male was turned over by his owner. Her job involved
a lot of travel and she was unable to give him the attention he needed.
He spent a lot of time alone when she would leave town. Someone
would come in and feed him and let him out to potty, but that wasn't
enough for this friendly boy. He is now in a home with another
pug, Brownie, and has a human sister & brother. He loves the
constant love and attention he gets from his new family and Toby will
never be alone again.

JAZZ
Jazz is the black cutie pictured above. He came
from a Missouri puppy mill. Heidi Folks saw his picture
and thought he would be a perfect birthday present for
her husband. He immediately fit in with all of
Heidi's other pets and takes no nonsense from any of
them, including the 70 lb. ones. He loves sleeping in
bed with Heidi, her husband and his Pug brothers, Butch
& Cisco. Jazz and his family recently came
from their home in Nashville, TN to attend the Pug Crawl.
It was obvious he is happy and has a charmed life with
the Folk's.
SISSY

(pictured with her sister, Jade)
Sissy traveled to Nashville and stayed with Heidi Folks and her family until her new family, The Dean's picked her up. Chris says Sissy slept all the way home to Kingsport, TN. When they arrived Sissy ran through the house like she had been here all of her life. Jade, Sissy's new Pug sister doesn't know what to think about her. Jade barks and barks, but Sissy doesn't even acknowledge her. Chris has taken Sissy everywhere with her for the first couple of days since she got her. Sissy loves to ride in the car & slept all the way home in the new bed that Chris bought her. Chris didn't want to go to work be away from Sissy, but knew she would be fine and probably sleep all day. Sissy has several new toys but it seems like she doesn't really know what to do with them. She likes playing with the blanket that Heidi sent with her. Her first night in her new home she was so tired after chasing Jade through the house all evening that she slept until 10 am the next morning!! Sissy loves her food and she has a full bowl of her own at all times and lots of water. Chris is very pleased that Sissy seems to have adjusted with no problem. Sissy is already loved so much and Chris feels fortunate that her and her family were chosen as the family to give Sissy her forever home.
LOUIS
This
is Louis (right) with his new sister Cooper (left).
Debbie Williams felt that adding another Pug to their
family would be a wonderful idea and once Harold met
Louis he felt the same way. Louis came to Pug
Rescue from a puppy mill auction and had demodex mange
over 75% of his body. He was only 10 months old
and was very shy around humans, especially children.
Anna took Louis over to meet the William's and he spent
several hours getting to know them and Cooper. From
the initial meeting it looked like Louis would be a
perfect fit with this wonderful family. It has
been 4 months now and Louis is happy & healthy.
Due in part to his loving, secure environment, his mange
has cleared up. Debbie says he demands attention
and will roll on his back and "cry" if he
doesn't get his share. He and Cooper's crates
are side by side and they both can't wait to get out
and see each other in the morning.
